eBay Pulse
eBay is trying to make more money and frankly they do that when more people buy and sell on their website. So they developed a system that allows you to see what the most searched for items on eBay are, eBay Pulse.
Low Prices
Chances are there will almost always be someone willing to bid on your product if you get the price low enough. For example I may not normally buy electronic devices (ipods, vcrs, xboxes, ps2, etc) from eBay because I like to check everything works and looks okay before I'm out of the store. BUT if you give me that iPod for say 60% of the price, well now you've given me a decision - I'll risk that little bit of security I have at the store and will go to the seller with the item for THAT MUCH cheaper. If the price is enticing enough...a market of buyers will find you.
Accidental Finds
This one is exciting when you come across it, but the excitement is deserving since it takes a great deal of searching. If you're just surfing around eBay looking through categories or products you might stumble across a hot item. If you find something that's just racking up bids even hours before the final hours, or a listing with a ton of page views your mind should click that something is going right here. Either that product is hot, the seller is selling it right, or somehow that seller is drawing people to that listing. Do some research: check other listings for that item, check that sellers other auctions, and check how that listing's price compares to the market.
Powersellers
They sold lots of stuff, they keep selling lots of stuff, it seems to be lucrative enough for them...see what they've been selling. Learn from people who have been here a long time, see what products have made them money and try to emulate.
